When Erica took the plunge and went on a date with Corey to a local Indianapolis winery, she didn’t want the night to end! “They basically had to kick us out of the restaurant that night because we were still there talking as they were trying to close,” she adds. After two years of dating, Corey took Erica back to the same winery, sat in the same booth they did on their first date, and popped the question. Way to stay true to your roots!
Because the pair would be blending families, Corey had his children help him pick out the perfect ring. We love how this engagement turned out to be a perfect family moment!
The pair has separately been married once before, so they each had an idea of how they wanted their celebration to look. Erica explains, “We both knew we wanted it to be very focused on us and our kids coming together as a blended family. We wanted it to be elegant, yet small and intimate with only our closest family and friends. The second time around you have a better idea of the things that are really important and the things that you can get away with not doing.”
So far, the planning process has been going well, but Erica says that’s only because of the planner the couple hired. “We have a ‘don’t sweat the small stuff’ kind of attitude for our wedding day,” Erica notes. “I know our planner understands what we are hoping for the day, and I have confidence and trust in her that she can make the right decisions to make it come to life.”
