After receiving a canoe from her grandfather, Haley Rheinlander of Haley Raven Photography decided to get up before the rest of the world and capture a stunning style shoot, with the help of Chelsea from Once Wild Designs. “What better way to break it in, we thought,” Haley shares. She and the rest of the vendors woke up at four in the morning, loaded up their vehicles and headed out to the Bluegrass Nature Preserve.
Elopements are the most intimate form of weddings. Knowing that, Haley and her vendors worked together to create a color scheme that complemented the nature around them while conveying the personality of elopements. “We thought some tropical greens and deep reds would pair perfectly with the dress Emma had pulled,” Haley says. “The evening before the shoot, Katie hand-cut burgundy amaranthus and other fun pops of color for us to transport.” We think she did an amazing job of showing the happiness and love in the florals!
The dress chosen for this shoot was a simple—yet timeless—tulle dress. The suit was a dazzling navy color, which blended well with the deep greens of the natural surroundings. Something that was unique about this attire is the lack of shoes! “Everyone was barefoot, which is the norm around here,” Haley explains.
Haley couldn’t say enough about the incredible vendors who helped her complete this shoot. “In Southern Indiana, we’re lucky to have a tight group of talented, supportive, women-owned businesses,” Haley raves. “We all aspire to help couples create their own visions, on their own terms. This is a concept we feel has been lost in the wedding industry; so many pressures to conform and stop dreaming.”
