Wanting to inspire engaged couples to do something unique to them that incorporates hobbies they share, Emily Catron, the photographer of this shoot, brought this playful wedding scene to life. "I am always encouraging couples to incorporate shared hobbies and passions into their big day and this shoot does just that. The images from the shoot demonstrate how an ordinary space can become an extraordinary moment when captured creatively with love at its center," Emily gushes.
When thinking of where to have this shoot, only one idea came to Emily's mind. "The goal was to shoot at the roller rink to capture a nostalgic feeling of a shared pastime," Emily explains. "The venue was the beloved local roller rink, complete with all of its nostalgic vibes and small town glory." Though the neon lights in the venue did present some challenges for Emily, the venue is the perfect place for this charming shoot!
Take a look at this adorable dress! Since the vision for the shoot was to create a fun environment unlike any other, they had to get an equally quirky dress. "The dress is short, practical for roller skating, and flirty. The bubble long sleeves present a chic and sophisticated element to the shoot," Emily shares. We love the polka dots on the sleeves and how they are a nod to nostalgic dresses of the 40s and 50s!
With such a unique venue, the team was able to create some special shots of their happy couple that other weddings wouldn't include. For example, the shot of the couple in the shoe racks picking out their shoes. This is a cute moment shared between the couple that is unique to their celebration. It goes to show that you don't need to spend thousands of dollars to put together a memorable and fun wedding that you will remember for the rest of your life. You just need the person you love and a little creativity!
