As Gentijana and Hannah matured after their meeting in middle school, they started to recognize feelings between them and started dating. Despite the pandemic beginning, Gentijana and Hannah got engaged in March of 2020. Roping a friend in to help her, Hannah was able to propose to Gentijana in the small town of Palisade, Minnesota.
We adore the classic dress that Gentijana is rocking! Gentijana was lucky enough to find "the one" on her third dress! "The first and second dresses felt nice in the moment, but the third dress truly felt like me," Gentijana explains. "Once I saw that dress, I felt like it was meant for me." Gentijana actually found the dress in an ad for the bridal shop on Instagram and ended up scrolling back to it because it left such an impression on her. We love the way her classic dress is laid back and pairs nicely with Hannah's more casual look.
Since the COVID pandemic began a week after their engagement, Gentijana and Hannah had plenty of time to plan for their big day. "We wanted the wedding essence to be light and green," Gentijana shares. "We based our theme off our wedding venue. Plus, it included a lot of green, which is our favorite color." They ended up with this stunning light day with plenty of greenery!
"We both simply thought the venue was beautiful. We loved how everything we needed/wanted was all right there. We didn't need to question if it was the right one or not," Gentijana admits. We think it was absolutely the right choice, too! Having the ceremony outside, surrounded by trees and shrubbery makes the transition to the greenhouse-like reception venue seamless. And the wooden details in the reception area are breathtakingly beautiful!
What we Love
Gentijana and Hannah asked their high school art teacher to officiate them. "She was always there for us and provided a safe space for expression," Gentijana gushes. "Hannah and I spent half our high school time in her classroom, and she has been one of our main supporters." They even think of her as their whacky aunt!
Advice from the Couple
"Life gets busy but remember that communication is the most important thing. Sometimes it can get hectic, but in order to ensure a good, stress-free wedding day, it's important to make sure everyone is on the same page," Gentijana and Hannah advise.
