We’re studying abroad in this submission to our 2019 Style Shoot Design Contest! Cathy Teeters, the owner of Cathy Teeters Beautiful Weddings, brought together Christine Wilson of Creative in Bloom and IU Weddings to create the perfect European wedding. Calling this style shoot “European Romance at the heart of Indiana University,” the team worked with the campus’s various venues to create a ceremony that will take you across the pond. Check out all the magical moments they created below!

Cathy wanted to incorporate the most sought after rose of the season, the toffee rose, but had to incorporate the Pantone Color of the Year, Living Coral, in the shoot as well. The result was a blossoming “coral reef” rose palette that we fell in love with!

This intricate dress from Sophia’s Bridal has us dreaming of a fairytale wedding! The lovely lace and scrollwork tied in the theme of European elegance with ease. The bride’s hair and makeup were kept classic. The model's natural skin brought out a glowing look, perfectly complementing her romantic hair style. And doesn't the groom look dashing in his Andrew Davis Clothiers attire?

The Indiana University campus holds a lot of history and sentiment that was perfect for this memorable shoot. Christine explains the the campus has a lot of natural historic architecture, limestone and beautiful foliage that the team could creatively expand on. “There is just a majestic, historic feeling inside and outside of the IMU architecturally,” Christine says. “The Garden at the IMU is especially noteworthy. It's the charm, privacy and history that give you a sense of Europe right in the heart of Indiana.”

Creative in Bloom not only provided this stunning stationery but the paper, décor, seating and signage as well. According to Christine, Cathy used inspiration from the juniper in the floral accents to inspire the stationery. The team wanted to bring a charming, hand-scripted feel to the table, and to do so, the invitations were first drawn by hand, then digitized for print. Talk about amping up the creative process!

The trends this team touched on include toffee roses, personalized hand-lettering on fabric and hosting their ceremony outdoors. Christine notes, “We would love to think our amazing Wine Display is the next trendsetter!”

We love the rustic romance this cake brings to this shoot. Paired with the chair rentals from Perfect Parties Tents and Events and table linens from BBJ Linens, we’re ready to dig in to this gorgeous display!
