Inspired by her own dreams to have a large fall wedding, Leigha from EXL Events Co. wanted to create a black and white wedding scene. “I really wanted something that could fit all couples styles for any time of the year. By that I mean, simply switching the color palette but keeping the same décor. Versatility was definitely a goal,” Leigha explains. For her shoot, she added powder blue to give it a delicate touch, and copper to create some edginess.

For this cover, the team at Burns Special Events wanted to bring together a shoot that incorporated desert elements into a modern winter style shoot. Though the two seem to contradict each other, bringing opposites together was a beautiful theme of this shoot.

“I was picturing a simplistic but dramatic shoot,” Lauren Krempec from Burns explains. We think the wonderful team of creatives brought to life a shoot that was regal yet achievable!

An Eclectic Industrial Wedding in Grand Rapids: The Real Wedding of Lauren Pruitt Eugene & Wes Eugene

Not wanting to be pigeonholed into one specific theme, Lauren and Wes focused on their jewel-toned color scheme and the eclectic and industrial interior of their venue. Out-of-the-box venues were the first ones on their list. They wanted their wedding to be unique and highlight both of their families’ heritages. Lauren and Wes fell in love with the mid-century modern style of their venue but finding other vendors proved to be a challenge for these New York residents. Lauren’s parents mostly took the lead on curating their special day, but Lauren and Wes were able to video call with some of their amazing vendors, like Phern Joy, their talented photographer!
