A Tropical-Inspired Celebration in Carmel, Indiana: The Real Wedding of Courtney Luthman & Josh Sutter

Since she had started dreaming of her wedding, Courtney, a professional event planner, always knew she wanted an outdoor tent wedding, but the color scheme and theme escaped her. Luckily, her incredible vendor team was able to help her curate the perfect design. Courtney’s favorite color is pink, so she knew she wanted her bridesmaids in that color. However, she didn’t want a ceremony overwhelmed with only pink. Her planner and florist helped her decide on incorporating green—which symbolized Josh’s love of the outdoors—and they ended up with a colorful pastel wedding! Since they had always envisioned getting married by the beach, the inclusion of banana leaves and vibrant colors were the perfect additions to bring in the tropical vibes. With Courtney's mom having passed away five years prior, they were also able to incorporate a few special touches to honor her. Their florist designed a beautiful floral piece for the chair she would have sat in and, as a nod to her mother's love for fireworks, their planner was able to organize a 15 minute show, despite town ordinances! We love how elegant but fun Courtney and Josh's special day turned out!

What We Love

Hotel Carmichael was one of the hotels that provided accommodations for Courtney and Josh’s guests. This upscale boutique hotel was only a 12 minute drive from the venue, giving their guests plenty of time to prepare to celebrate!
