When Allison of Kiste Photography envisions a spring garden wedding, she envisions one that is gorgeously blue! Inspired by the loveliness of all the spring blooms that surrounded her, she knew the perfect stage was set. “There actually was a spring shower!” she says. “We had to take everything up three flights of stairs and settle into a studio to recreate this look.” Lucky for the team—who had every intention of putting the “garden” in their garden wedding—they were able to rent the studio directly above the patio and ended up loving the white walls and big, open feel.
In addition to white, the softer blue tones infused throughout the shoot gave Allison the “something blue” tone she desired. And as for the stunning florals? Allison says, “I had to have blue thistles! They were the flowers I saw growing outside and I needed to photograph them right away! Allison included the same flowers on the stationery suite as well, since florals were the shoot's key component.
The rentals were a key component as well. “This was my favorite part of the whole shoot!” Allison says. “Gigi & LaClede Rentals showed us many different options and we came up with simple white plates with a gold lining. They ended up looking like flowers when stacked, and I couldn't have been happier with how it turned out! In order to match the plates, the cake designer crafted a simple white cake with gold borders." Allison says, “We also had a macaron baker who baked up wonderful blue cookies with some gold sprinkled on them!”
The team opted for an ivory dress. “I absolutely love white, but we thought it was best to have something a little different—something that would really stand out,” explains Allison. The bride’s hair and makeup were also kept very natural and soft, in order to let her wavy red hair and elegant dress shine.
