Game of Thrones. We have all been watching the series since it first premiered eight years ago. It is the series that has kept us captivated with its characters, design and unparalleled dangerous allure. That is why we are especially excited to see the series make its entrance into the wedding design world. Owner of Forevermore Weddings, Brooke, came up with the idea to create a shoot based off the series. She says, “The vision for this shoot was to create the mother of dragons in the Game of Thrones getting married! The shoot came about because it’s been an insanely popular show for a few years now and we wanted something modern, yet that would showcase our side of work and how creative we can be.”

Using the show as their source of inspiration, the team curated a shoot that celebrated the power and boldness of the series. Utilizing a deep and moody color palette and classic symbols of the show, they managed to showcase a shoot that plays with daring design.

The venue for this shoot was essential for the theme. Brooke says, “We chose the location at Nazareth Hall in Grand Rapids, Ohio because the outside of this venue reminds many people of a castle and royalty. The inside of the venue has the same feel along with the Grato which is where our outdoor photos were taken. There is just so much character.” The regal manner of the venue was ideal and offered a setting like no other.

Other than the venue, the dress is arguably the most important aspect to a shoot like this. This team even used two gowns! The first gown was a Mon Cheri. Brooke adds, “The Mon Cheri: Martin Thornburg gown is very lightweight, flowy and has lots of rhinestones throughout the top and mid waist of the gown. It was perfect as it fit the character (Mother of dragons) clothing style she wears in the movie!” They also had a ceremony gown by Eddy K. Its long-sleeves and illusion back were mystical and made for a royal bridal look.

Many details helped to create a finished looked. The florals alone were breath-taking. Brooke says, “We chose these flowers and shape of the bouquet to give it a messy and more natural look. The colors we picked we wanted to match the table centerpiece along with the theme of the shoot.” The overflowing florals added to the royalty theme and their bold colors are a nod to the colors from the show.
