When Stephanie and Mark decided to study abroad in Greece, they never expected to cross paths with their future spouse. "Our program was made up of about forty college students from different universities in the US. We clicked instantly!" Stephanie gushes. After Mark passed his bar exam, they decided to take a short trip back to Thessaloniki to celebrate. They spent a day revisiting all their favorite places while studying there. On a boardwalk overlooking the Thessaloniki Gulf as the sun began to set, Mark proposed to Stephanie!

The ring that Mark used to propose is elegantly crafted with a beautiful story behind it. "Mark proposed to me with a family heirloom that belonged to his late grandmother," Stephanie shares. "It is a timeless brilliant cut diamond with side baguettes, and I couldn’t have picked out a more gorgeous ring!" Look how it sparkles when the sun catches the stunning center diamond!

Finding their photographer Kayla Bouren Photography was simple. Stephanie raves, "I had seen a few mutual friends use Kayla as their engagement/wedding photographer and was immediately drawn to her attention to detail. I met with about five different photographers, and Kayla checked off everything we were looking for." Once they had their photographer chosen, they looked for places to host their engagement session. Knowing they wanted both elegant and casual photos, they picked a cider mill and the Detroit Athletic Club.

As they began planning their wedding, Stephanie and Mark prioritized the people who would be supporting them on their big day and planned a large romantic and classic celebration. "Before we were engaged, I thought wedding planning would be overwhelming and stressful, but truthfully it has been a breeze. At the end of the day, the thing we most care about is getting married to each other, so that puts any stress into perspective," Stephanie explains. Luckily, they have a dream planning team—consisting of their wedding planner and Stephanie's mom—to help them get everything in line as well.
