Lauren and Nick met when he went out to dinner with his parents at the steakhouse Lauren was managing. After exchanging a few Facebook messages, their first date spun into true love! The couple planned a trip to Cancun, and Nick intended to propose on their first-class flight. However, they missed their flight and had to end up taking a second one where they sat in the back of the plane. Nick still took the opportunity and proposed on the plane. “It was completely unexpected, but we were in our own little world,” Lauren gushes.

Lauren knew she wanted a light and flowy dress with sleeves, and we simply adore the way it looks! “I tend to be more on the conservative side, so the sleeves helped with that comfort level,” Lauren says. “The illusion lace and high slit made my dress fun and modern.”

The couple knew they wanted a timeless, classic theme, and built the rest of their wedding around that idea. Lauren used Pinterest and other various wedding magazines as resources to find vendors when her friends and family didn’t have recommendations.

We love the way these leather jackets add a sassy and memorable touch to this wedding!

The recently renovated venue was chosen because of its location. It was a convenient place for their family to meet up while staying close enough to many bars and restaurants in downtown Toledo to keep the party going after hours!

What we love

Lauren’s father works as a sheet metal worker and helped hand-make each of the table numbers. Thanks, Dad! Lauren adds, “We included what we called ‘story cards’ where the groom and I both wrote a short story about each other and had them placed at each table and throughout the venue for people to read and get to know us a little better.”

Advice from the couple

Lauren advises future brides to relax and enjoy their day--it only happens once in a lifetime, after all! “There’s so much activity going on that you quickly forget everything that happened, so enjoy it. We made sure to take time out during the day to be alone with each other,” she adds.
