After meeting through mutual friends, Tyler and Trevor fell in love with one another. When they both felt ready to get married, both Tyler and Trevor had a chance to propose! Tyler chose to propose at Coxhall Gardens in Carmel, Indiana, and Trevor decided to propose at the Grand Canyon in Arizona.
Knowing that they would have to have a summer or winter wedding due to Trevor's school schedule, the happy couple settled on a winter wedding since Tyler preferred that season to summer. Like many couples, they utilized Pinterest to help generate ideas until they landed on a theme. "We wanted a winter woodland meets modern timeless vibe," they explain. We think they nailed the theme! They also look so dapper and elegant in their classic black tuxedos in these portraits captured by Beth Waterman Photography!
Tyler and Trevor decided to host their guests at Ivory Foundry Weddings & Events. "We love that they brought the outside in with cement walls, a greenery wall and wood beams," Tyler and Trevor rave. "It really brought together the vibe we were looking for." We couldn't agree more! With the mix of textures and multiple spaces withing the venue, the Ivory Foundry was perfect for hosting Tyler and Trevor's wedding, especially after Ivory by Design filled the space with plenty of florals and décor!
The perfect juxtaposition of decor can elevate any wedding from pretty to stunning. Tyler and Trevor's ceremony and reception areas utilized black and white details in a way that was both modern and classic. They also had plenty of gold touches that contrasted with the wooden elements of their day to create a balance between elegant and rustic as well. The vision Tyler and Trevor had for their wedding was beautifully achieved!
What We Love
No woodland-themed wedding is complete without plenty of flowers and greenery to go with the rest of the décor. Ivory by Design filled the venue to the brim with plenty of plants and flowers to make their guests feel immersed in this natural scene. They were even able to add a unique touch to their day. "Tyler's grandmother passed away when he was two and left succulents that he and his mother have cared for," the couple shares. "Our florist was able to make boutonnieres with them and even had them on our cake!"
Advice from the Couple
Tyler and Trevor advise, "As hard as it may sound, even if people/family offer money for the wedding, please remember that it is your day and YOUR choices matter. Enjoy the day. It goes by so fast. And definitely budget for a videographer. You won't regret it!"
