In a time when everything seemed bleak and dismal, Sarah of Sarah Kriner Photography and London from London Bloom Weddings wanted to put together a style shoot full of joy. "This shoot was dreamt up during the summer of 2020 when all of our weddings were being canceled, rescheduled and canceled again," Sarah says. "I thought about how fun it would be to plan a shoot based around joy and color and FUN, to show couples how they could celebrate the time when they'd be able to plan without fear or restrictions."

To Sarah and London, the perfect venue was one that provided space for an intimate wedding while being slightly more modern. "I think I just wanted a blank slate, a clean palette that really showed off the colors we were working with," Sarah gushes. "I haven't seen many studio-type spaces utilized for intimate weddings and I'd love to see more of that in the Midwest." Sarah also loved the natural light that filled the venue on the day of the shoot.

When it came to the color scheme, Sarah and London wanted to blend muted and bright pinks, greens, blues and oranges. The color was the focal point of the shoot and something the pair had seen increasing in popularity in recent weddings. They did such a wonderful job with the color selection that it flows beautifully through all the aspects of the shoot. From the bouquet to the cake, those colors look stunning! In fact, Sarah and London loved the cake as much as we do! Sarah raves, "We knew we wanted something abstract and fun, and she definitely gave us that!"

The bakery was not the only vendor to exceed Sarah and London's expectations, though. The rentals fit the theme excellently and were super helpful to Sarah and London. "Roots Event Rentals really came through with helping us out with the vision. The look of their pieces fit in perfectly and they were so so helpful and accommodating overall!" Sarah explains.

For the dress, Sarah and London wanted something casual. The idea was a picnic-style ceremony shared with closest friends and family. "We wanted something a little different, a little more casual," Sarah admits. "I'd originally been searching for something vintage from the 60s or 70s and didn't have any luck, and I finally found the Belize gown from BHLDN which fit perfectly!" The bride's hair was placed in a simple bun, and her makeup was kept natural to keep with the classic and vintage themes.
