After spending a night at college singing country songs together, Kaelynn and Neil didn't see each other again for two years. When they reconnected it seemed like no time had passed. To propose, Neil took Kaelynn to St. Louis to buy her a gluten-free burger, catch a Cardinals game, and go on a brewery tour.
With some sample photos of what Kaelynn liked, Neil took the photos to Kaelynn's uncle, who worked in the jewelry industry for most of his life. After some discussion between the two, they ended up creating a ring that met all of Kaelynn's expectations. "Let's start by saying that I am OBSESSED with my ring!" Kaelynn raves. "I honestly think I would have loved anything but having my family be so involved makes it extra special to me."
As soon as they were engaged, Kaelynn began asking around for photographer recommendations, then stalked their social media pages. "When I came across Kalli June I had this instant connection," Kaelynn explains. "Neil is camera shy and Kali seemed to work magic when it came to busting him out of that shell." Needless to say, their email communications went well, and the photos that came back were amazing!
"I always dreamed of what it would feel like at my wedding and what I felt for my future husband. That is great and romantic, but I never planned or 'Pinterested' what I wanted until the car ride back from being engaged," Kaelynn admits. In the four months that she's been engaged, Kaelynn feels like her tastes have changed many times. Now that she knows what she wants, Kaelynn is excited to throw herself into picking the décor and making D.I.Y. projects.
Both Kaelynn and Neil are enjoying the planning process and Look forward to their wedding day! Kaelynn gushes, "I will miss being engaged and planning a wedding when it is all over, but man, I will love being his wife!"
