Beatriz and Michael knew each other by volunteering at Emagine Theatres in Rochester Hills, and got further acquainted when they both attended Oakland University. Michael’s proposal was a full day affair! Beatriz recalls, “He took me to a lighthouse by the water and got down on one knee and asked the question. After, he took me to Short’s Brewery in Bellaire, my favorite place, and surprised me with our parents and my sister waiting or us. Then, we went wine tasting around Torch Lake and had a family dinner in the evening.” Talk about a wine-and-dine engagement!
Beatriz and Michael went ring shopping together to pick out the perfect stone and style. Beatriz says, “I gave him two options and let him pick which one he liked best. I love my ring because Michael picked it out and because I think it’s very me. I love the yellow gold and I love how the small diamonds are around the band. He did a really good job.”
Beatriz had the same sentiment for her photographer, Dan of Dan Cox photography! “I chose my photographer because I really loved his pictures and I think he knows how to grab those small special moments,” she says. “He was so kind and funny during our engagement session. He made us relax and enjoy our pictures.”
Mother knows best when it comes to the dress. Beatriz’s mother helped her pick out a dress for this session that was casual and flowery. Beatriz wanted something more relaxed for this easy-going engagement session!
When it comes to the actual wedding, Beatriz says she’s simple and picky, but very indecisive. The guests and the little details are what she likes to focus on. She explains, “Our theme for our wedding is Simple and Elegant. I have all earthy, and some pink tones for colors. I don’t like anything flashy and extravagant. I want things to be timeless and fun. My wedding dress, my flowers and Michael’s tux are my favorite things about our wedding.” We can’t wait to see it!
