While attending summer camp, high schoolers Jennifer and Benjamin first broke the ice. A fast friendship was formed and soon their relationship blossomed into something more. After years of dating, the couple knew they wanted to settle down and root themselves near their hometown. “We found a home on a piece of land that we fell in love with,” Jennifer explains. “The day that we closed on the house, Benjamin surprised me with a ‘house warming gift’ that happened to be a diamond ring!”
Jennifer went to four bridal stores but found her dream dress in the very last one. “This dress entered the store that day and was on the mannequin. I tried it on and fell in love,” she notes. We love the light and flowy vibes this gown is serving!
The couple had already planned for an outdoor wedding, which came in handy when COVID-19 hit. “We were lucky enough to host an outdoor ceremony and reception that allowed individuals to socially distance to the extent they felt comfortable doing,” Jennifer says.
We love the way this joyful day was beautifully captured by the airy style of Mika LH Photography!
What we love
Jennifer and Benjamin wanted their ceremony to match their quirky personalities, so they avoided some of the usual wedding traditions, such as bouquet throwing and dollar dances. She says, “Everything from coming out in our Spiderman masks with an ‘Into the Spider-Verse’ soundtrack, to a truck full of Taco Bell being delivered for a late-night snack was just a must in our book.”
Advice from the couple
Jennifer’s best piece of advice for brides is to let others help in the planning process. “It’s really difficult if you want to plan everything down to every small detail by yourself, but it will make your life easier letting friends/family help when they ask to. They want to be involved, they want to help, and it’s win-win for both of you.”
