From the time you get engaged to the time you get married, you will likely be photographed hundreds of times. These photographs will be used in albums and frames for the rest of your life. Since these images will be around forever, it is important that you love them. Unfortunately, many brides do not know how to pose in a way that is flattering. With the help of the right photographer, you can get images that you’ll treasure forever. The best photographers are willing to sign a wedding photography contract that explains the details of the agreement. In this article, we will share your guide to posing properly in engagement photos.

1. Start With Your Legs

When you begin to establish your pose, it is important that you start with a firm base. When you get your legs into the right position, you can stabilize your upper body on top of a firm foundation. When positioning your legs, you want to separate them for one another. When they are pushed together, your legs may appear large. After separating your legs, face them away from the camera. Ideally, your legs will not be directly angled towards the device that is taking the picture. As you plant your feet on the ground, flex the entirety of your leg. This flexed position will show off your leg muscles. If possible, try to point your toes and put your weight on your back leg.

2. Angle Your Arms

After highlighting the toned areas of your legs, it is time to angle the arms. There are a few ways that you can make your arms look thin and proportional in photos. First, twist your shoulders slightly. From an outright position, your shoulders may appear boxy or broad. By twisting your shoulders, you will highlight your collarbone. Next, let your arms dangle alongside your body. When your arms dangle, they have pulled away from the side body so that your upper arm is not unattractively flattened against the side. When in a dangle, you can place your hands lightly in your pockets or slightly behind your lower body.

3. Tilt Your Head

As you focus on your neck and face, it is important that you are tilting your head slightly. First, start by stretching your neck out long. Next, tilt your chin slightly down. When you do this, your neck will not press against your chin. Not only does this improve your angle, it gives you the ability to look into the camera with an intense demeanor. When posing for engagement photos, it is important to remember to tilt your head in every position that you are holding.

4. Prep Your Body In Advance

When you are having your photo taken hundreds of times, it is important that you feel confident. When you lack confidence, you will not be able to express your joy through your facial expressions. When you are confident, you hold your shoulders up tall and smile with a genuine look of happiness. Before prepping for a photoshoot, make sure that you speak affirmations that make you look and feel your best.

When you are confident, your body will look natural and beautiful. When you position your feet well, you can work your way up the body to determine the angle that looks best on you. Your wedding pictures are going to be used throughout your home forever. For this reason, it is important that you know how to pose in a flattering way. When you hire a trustworthy photographer, they will capture beautiful images of your wedding day.
