Camara and Oscar didn't have any idea they were about to meet their forever person when they joined the same academic club at the University of Pennsylvania. Oscar went the extravagant route when proposing to Camara. He rented an entire movie theater and had a slideshow of photos and videos of Camara and himself play when the actual movie was over. Camara recalls, "After the 'movie', he brought me outside where friends were waiting and recording his actual proposal. He read a poem that ended with the line 'turn around and look up' and when I did, 'Will you marry me?' was written on the marquee of the theater!"
"I created a Pinterest page with ideas and made a document that had important info like my ring size and what color and material I wanted," Camara shares. Oscar was able to pick out the perfect ring and add a few customizations to make it special to Camara. Her favorite thing is the two-toned metal of the band!
After scouring Instagram for photographers she liked, Camara decided to reach out to a few. "Ultimately, we chose Tushona because she was so personable on the phone that we figured she would be great to work with in person when we would eventually meet," Camara gushes. The couple also decided to wear both casual and formal looks for their engagement session, and, ironically, had an easier time planning the formal look.
Planning for the wedding has been an all-hands-on-deck situation for Camara and Oscar. "We’ve been together almost 7 years so we had talked about our wedding before," Camara admits. "However, there were so many things I didn’t know about until people asked me, so it’s been a learning process for sure!" Many friends and family members have been helping keep them on track with their planning.
