In this modern age of dating apps, Heather and Casey met on Facebook dating and fell in love at first swipe! Later, Casey took Heather out to a nice dinner where they got all dressed up and Heather even got her nails done per Casey's request. After a conversation about how much they meant to each other, Casey shared that he wanted to spend his life with Heather and proposed. Before Heather could answer, a waiter interrupted to ask if she wanted cheese on her soup, but Heather kindly shooed him away so she could say 'yes!'
With the assistance of Heather's sister and friend Felicia, Casey picked out that gorgeous ring for Heather. "My sister had an idea of what I wanted, I had also, of course, dropped some hints to Casey here and there, and the three of them picked the perfect ring!" Heather raves. We love the more unique Ascher cut diamond in the traditional halo setting and how it sparkles and shines on Heather's finger! They also chose to go with lab-grown diamonds, which they felt were more ethical than mined diamonds.
The blue dress that Heather wore for this shoot was actually an eye-catching choice. While they were out shopping one day, Casey saw the dress and urged Heather to try it on no matter how much she second-guessed it. Heather gushes, "Sure enough, he was right. It looked great, it fit great, and the color was perfect, too!" As for Casey, they tried to pick an outfit that would complement Heather's dress and then went for a crisp white shirt for the second llook. We love both the looks and how Erin, their photographer, chose to photograph the more elegant look with the cityscape and the casual look with more nature!
Since they had talked about spending their future together numerous times before they were engaged, it was easy for them to quickly decide to have a destination wedding in the Caribbean to give their friends and family a vacation. The location has been one of the more difficult decisions as they wanted something to reflect their personalities and love. "Jamaica was an easy choice for us. The African-inspired culture was huge for us, and the views and weather are incredible," Heather shares. "I feel really great about where we are at in the planning process." Heather loves event planning and has helped many friends plan their weddings, so she's finding it easy to plan her own!
