An Intimate, Rustic Woodland Elopement in Indiana: The Real Wedding of Hannah and David Fenderson

When David started his internship at a chiropractic office, he expected to potentially get a job, not meet his future wife. However, he ended up getting both when he was assigned to the clinic Hannah worked at! David proposed on Christmas Eve in the redwood forest in Santa Cruz, California while they were visiting Hannah's family for the holidays.
 

Instead of going the traditional route of visiting bridal shops and trying on all kinds of dresses, Hannah opted to order her dress online to save some money. She found an amazing brand and ordered two dresses that fit her vision before trying them on and seeing which one she liked best. Hannah explains, "I knew I wanted something form-fitting and with lace, so I picked a couple out and one I tired ended up being perfect!"
 

After being inspired by cabin elopements they had seen on Pinterest and Instagram, Hannah and David knew this was the way they wanted to go with their big day. "We were pretty limited with options for a winter elopement but I saw some beautiful cabin elopement photos on Instagram and Pinterest that were our inspiration," Hannah shares. They settled on a beautiful venue located near Bloomington, Indiana and had wonderful weather for their wedding.
 

With the elopement idea in mind, Hannah and David didn't choose to incorporate any overarching theme or color scheme but decided to use things they both liked. "I just picked out things and colors that I like (neutral, earthy tones), and everything looked cohesive together. My husband just really wanted to wear a blue suit, so he did," Hannah admits.
 

 

What We Love

The happy couple loved the intimate moment this elopement created. Hannah gushes, "We really enjoyed having only us two, our pastor and our photographer there. We were able to focus on only each other and it was very intimate and stress-free. The view of the stars at night was beautiful too!"
 

 

Advice from the Couple

Hannah and David advise, "If you are on the fence about having a full wedding or eloping, you will not regret eloping! We are planning on having a reception for friends and family in the near future but there’s nothing that we would change about our special day."
