The Magic of Love: A Dark & Moody Styled Elopement in Detroit

This shoot is pure magic! “I wanted to show intimacy in this styled elopement, meshing several ideas together—boho, natural, dark, moody and magical,” Dee of D’Isjah Lyons Photography explains. The venue was the perfect place for it. With all the crystals, unique furniture and dark areas, it brings in whimsy and some moodiness. And we are obsessed with the bride’s look. Between the vintage vibes from the bell sleeves on the dress to the subtle addition of contrast with the baby’s breath in the bride’s hair, everything was carefully and intentionally chosen for this shoot.

What We Love

The team decided to go the route of no makeup at all and style the bride in a natural way. Dee says, "I wanted the afro to stay as true to our roots as possible and show our hair in its natural state." The addition of baby's breath was a gorgeous touch!
