Tifani of Tifani Lyn Photography had one beautifully bold vision in mind. The vision was of a modern, minimalist wedding with a subtle yet complex design. Her style shoot vision-brought-to-life offers a clean, sophisticated style, gorgeous pops of color, geometric shapes and black metallic accents that leave us feeling just as ecstatic as her! After combining talents with Alyssa Ferguson of Fleurology Designs, the pair executed the “modern, unique affair” flawlessly.
The first glimpse at any wedding’s style is, of course, the invites. Centennial Avenue created an enticing invitation suite with bold black and white lines. The design also popped with images of lush, green botanical foliage. Yet another welcoming touch was a sweet backdrop for the union of the bride and groom. Inexpensive white craft paper from Michael’s and grid lines drawn by the talented Tifani were the only things needed. The best part is, it could be saved and framed as art for later use in the couple’s home.
In order to achieve an air of sophistication without being overly showy, the team paid very close attention to detail in their design, and the hard work paid off! The dressed to impress tablescapes served as pieces of modern art in themselves. The tables featured a white, pintuck linen from Special Occasions West and ghost chairs, square chargers and crystal wine glasses from The Rental Co. The sleek West Elm flatware was dressed up with hand-cut and lettered escort cards from Lief Design. Fleurology Designs created concrete D.I.Y. vases as centerpieces featuring coral charm peonies, red ranunculus, juliet garden roses, mini green hydrangea, orange spray roses, olive branches, freshly picked cedar and eucalyptus. Gold West Elm terrariums, black slate candle holders and geometrical orbs filled with air plants also added to the impressive design.
The bride wore a freshly arrived Mikaella Bridal gown from Renee Austin Wedding and her simple, effortless and sophisticated look seemed to have mesmerized everyone the day of the shoot. Unique, slate earrings and two glamorous rings designed by The Story of Two, a Grand Rapids-based jewelry artisan, completed the modern look. The bride’s hair was styled by Mani Aghababian of Metta Wild, who pulled her long hair into a textured ponytail style. Makeup Artist Erick Gerson used neutral eye colors and bold lips to create a classic, effortless lip. Rose water was also applied to the face to give it a natural, dewy finish. The groom’s sleek black tux aligned perfectly with the shoot’s modern style. Dunhill Tuxedos provided Perry Ellis slim fit pants, a fitted white shirt and slim black tie by Formal Shirts, and matte Frederico Leone dress shoes. The groom’s wedding band was also designed by The Story of Two.
The charming, two-tier cake designed by Ginger Bakes, featured a top tier made with white chocolate cake and raspberry cream cheese filling and a bottom tier made with double fudge cake and peanut butter filling (yes, our mouths just watered, too)! Fleurology Designs adorned the cake with matching florals and the cake was displayed on a unique stand from The Rental Co. A hand-cut and lettered sign by Lief Design quoted a verse from the song, “Because,” by The Beatles.
