Ever since Dan Eckelbarger started The Music Place back in 1978, this team of DJs has been curating unique music experiences for all kinds of events, including weddings. Since then, the business has been passed to Dan's son, Blake, who started DJing when he was young. Throughout the years, the faces have changed, but the goal has always remained the same: for their clients to love the celebration as much as they do. However, they aren't your stereotypical wedding DJs. They promise that their music and entertainment is always fresh and never cheesy!

What Makes The Music Place Different?

The Music Place is and always has been made up of real DJs. Those men and women you hear on the radio between songs, they are the same ones that are coming to your wedding to make sure you and your guests have a night full of fun times and good tunes that they remember for a long time.

Currently, two DJs make up the team at The Music Place, Blake (a.k.a. DJ Sticky Boots) and Jeff (a.k.a. DJ Iceberg). Because the two of them come from such diverse backgrounds and have an intense love for music and celebrations, it's tough to find someone who doesn't love them and their event DJing!

Where you may know Blake from:
  • He got his start in DJing at 13 years old as a private event DJ
  • DJ Sticky Boots has a nationally-syndicated show HyperMiXx on U-93 in South Bend and SiriusXM
  • He is the official voice of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish
  • Though he loves the Fighting Irish and his radio show, his heart is in event DJing

What makes Jeff a master DJ:
  • He's been with The Music Place since 1997
  • His main skillset includes being a master of timing, having a diverse taste in music and utilizing refined performance skills
  • He loves to make mixes and show them off whenever given the chance
  • His musical creativity is unmatched from Oldies and Disco to Hip-Hop and Dance

You're Sure to Love them

Since Dan started the business in 1978, The Music Place has been a staple across the South Bend area. Not only do they set the standard for the event DJ industry in this area, but they also are ahead of the curve and know what trends are going to start before they happen. They also have a catalog of music dating back to 1940, so there is something for all your guests to love and dance to!

Things that set The Music Place apart from other DJs:

  • Only top of the line equipment is used, including their lighting (so no lasers ruining photos)
  • Their DJs conduct themselves with professionalism and dress appropriately for your event
  • No signage or advertising will ever be posted to ruin the aesthetics of your wedding
  • They are insured in case of any kind of liability that may happen
  • Food is not required if they DJ your wedding
  • They offer five flexible, no interest packages to suit various wedding needs
  • WiFi is not needed for your guests to enjoy their music
  • They are more than happy to celebrate ALL love
