Aaron was planning a big proposal for Courtney, but plans changed because of the weather. Courtney says, “Aaron originally had a hot air balloon ride planned for us in February, but due to two cancellations in a row due to high winds, Aaron took me to Cox Arboretum Park in Dayton, Ohio and proposed on the cutest bridge overlooking the pond!”
After getting engaged, the couple knew that they wanted an all-inclusive venue that would make planning easier. This way, they wouldn’t have to overthink any plans. Courtney adds, “The Estate at New Albany was perfect since they included the florist, DJ, catering, alcohol and cake all in a per person price!” Not to mention, the venue is absolutely gorgeous!
Courtney wanted an elegant gown that would be perfect for their estate wedding. She says, “My dress was so perfect! I bought my dress at La Jeune Mariee in Columbus, Ohio. It’s a cute boutique located in downtown Columbus. I knew going into the dress buying process that I wanted a ball gown. I ended up purchasing a ball gown style from the designer Wtoo by Watters.” The dress was timeless and classic!
This couple made sure they had some delicious food for their guests. Courtney notes, “My husband and I love food! We knew we wanted to add some unique food items to our wedding day. Chicken and waffles was one of our three appetizers during the cocktail hour and they were a huge hit with guests! We also had a s’mores bar with a variety of graham cracker flavors, marshmallows and chocolates for guests that wanted a late-night treat.” Making sure that your guests get a good meal is a detail that some couples overlook while planning, but it is a focal point of the reception.
Advice from the bride
“If I had to give advice for brides going through the wedding planning process, it would be to stay true to yourself and let your day showcase who you are as a couple!”
What the bride says about weddingday
Courtney says, “A friend had recommended your website and Facebook page to me at the beginning of the planning process. I began following your page and reading the blog posts to gather ideas for my own wedding. I enjoyed the page focusing on Midwest brides and showing different trends from brides around the area.”
