Jacinta Young, owner of Got It Photography of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, had a vision for a styled shoot that mixed two unique colors together for a new, unexpected feel. Jacinta says, “My vision for this shoot was to create something I wasn’t seeing on Pinterest. This was a color scheme I wasn’t seeing a whole lot of so I decided to make it my own. I wanted something modern and moody with a vintage flair, a marriage of the two styles in the copper and dusky blue theme.”
To bring this exciting theme to life, the team was seeking an equally as fresh venue that could offer a bright space to invite the colors in. “We chose this location for the beautiful brick walls and the large windows,” says Jacinta. The industrial interior was the ideal match to the earthy vibes of the shoot.
The bridal look for this shoot was a sweet, feminine look. “We selected two modern fitted dresses for this shoot. The lace dress is the trending style of 2019 according to the dress shop owners and they were eager for us to showcase it,” says Jacinta. “Each had a small train that looked gorgeous on the wood floors and made for a subtle bit of flair. We loved the simplicity of the gowns and the way they truly let the bride’s beauty shine through.” The simplistic style of the dresses flattered the bride’s natural shape and added to the overall organic image of the shoot.
The details of the shoot also added to the whimsical feel. From the bright blue linens, colored goblets and gold blue stationery to the artistic two-tiered cake—there was little left to be desired. Jacinta adds, “The cake was designed with a very modern feel for a unique piece. We went with a nontraditional square design, lined up by the back corner instead of being centered. The blue was lined in gold and there was copper brushed into the blue fondant as well. We chose blueberry tarts as the second dessert and actually ended up using blueberries as accents throughout the entire shoot as well. I loved the idea of a unique secondary dessert as these beautiful tarts.”
