Our Newest Obsession: Long-Lasting Lipstick from The Pretty Committee

Anyone that knows me, knows I love a good lipstick. From bright and bold shades to more neutral, lighter hues, you'll never catch me without! So naturally, I'm always on the hunt for the latest and best products. At the top of my list of needs is always longevity. I mean, what's the point of a fun, playful lip if it doesn't last past your first cocktail, am I right? Cue The Pretty Committee's Major Arcana Liquid Lipstick and Lady Lush Liquid Lipstick. Not only do they offer 20+ gorgeous shades, these long-wearing lipsticks hold up to their claim! I had a chance to try out several of their products myself and the verdict is in...I'm in love! 

Lead Makeup Artist and Founder of The Pretty Committee, Emily Frew, developed this makeup line during the COVID-19 shutdown. She says, "Every time I do makeup for a bridal party the number one question is 'How am I going to touch up my lip color?' So naturally, I thought the best hero product for The Pretty Committee would be lip colors! As previously stated, the aspect we're most in love with is the long-lasting wear these beauties boast! So brides, rest assured–these matte products are 100% kiss-proof for your big day!

What's even more fun about this lipstick line is their creative and pun-filled names (and as a self-proclaimed pun expert, these babies earned even more clout in my book!). "The glosses are named after famous women in history transformed into cocktail names. The mattes are the names of the major arcana cards (face cards basically) from tarot card decks. For the tarot cards, each side of the cap is the card upright, reversed and the card back. They are also metallic gold since tarot cards are often gold foiled," Emily describes.

Just when I thought this amazing lipstick line couldn't get any better, I found out that they also support an incredible cause! "15% of the proceeds go towards women’s abuse shelters. Every year, we use funds to donate to women’s domestic abuse shelters and also build makeup and hair care kits for the women," Emily shares. "When we go in, 90% of the women have damaged hair. Our team volunteers to trim hair and teach the women how to apply their own makeup and care for their own hair. This is a gift that instills confidence in women to help them believe that they can do better than their past. We’ve had people cry and tell us that they cannot wait to apply for a job or show their friends and family. At this event we also have a portrait photographer, business professional donations from clothing centers, and a person on site to help fill out resume templates." Talk about a win-win-win!
