Romantic and Elegant Love at a Timeless and Classic Venue: A Grand Rapids Style Shoot

The vision Jeannene Lillie Events had in mind was an intimate wedding with an at-home feel but a glamorous look. Leidy, one of the photographers from the shoot, says, "It was important for the wedding ceremony to be grandiose and beautiful to showcase that intimate at-home weddings deserve to have those big and bold details as well."

Another goal they focused on in planning was creating a wedding that was personalized to the couple. There are so many details a couple can add to an intimate celebration that can make all their guests feel special and loved, which they may not get in a larger wedding. "As an intimate wedding of 12 people, the intentional details and intimate setting can be seen in the family-style dining complete with charcuterie boards and personalized notes to each guest from the bride and groom attached to their escort card bud vase," Leidy explains.  Many of the beautiful décor items for this shoot were rented from the amazing specialists at Burns Special Events!

The venue helped inspire the creative team. Leidy raves, "When searching for a venue that embodied both the inspiration for an at-home intimate wedding session with a romantic twist, the timeless mansion at Venue3Two and its beautiful 1920’s architecture and detailing created the perfect location for our at-home intimate wedding." There are so many stunning places to take beautiful photos around this venue, and it creates the perfect romantic backdrop!

We are obsessed with the light, airy feel of this shoot. "The team focused on an elevated and elegant color palette filled with pinks, ivories, dusty rose, gray, french blue, and touches of gold accents throughout the whole design," Leidy shares. The dress that was chosen also adds so much lightness and elegance to the shoot. We love the off-the-shoulder style, and the puffy sleeves are so regal. The flower headband is also a beautiful touch to that gorgeous updo!

Along with the amazing selection of food, the cake is a true highlight of the shoot! Though it at first seems like a simple two-tiered, white-iced cake, the subtle gold detailing around the top of both tiers is an elegant touch to a rather simple design. It almost looks too delicious to eat!
