The Vision

“I was envisioning something really unique and timeless,” Hannah Brooks, the planner of our Chicago cover shoot, explains. “It all came together and was beautifully executed by each vendor.” Hannah was looking to create a shoot that was elegant and romantic while still standing out from the crowd. The team utilized classic black and white as well as greenery and a few pink details to pull this shoot together. One of our favorite details is that we hosted this shoot as the sun was setting, creating beautiful moments for Danielle Schury Photography to capture as the space was washed in golden hour light!

The Venue

Sky on Nine is a stunning top-floor venue with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Chicago region's skyline. The venue's neutral walls make it easy to host any kind of theme while the black-framed windows add an extra elegant touch! As Hannah describes, “Classy, modern, timeless and architectural. The vibes all meshed really well together as we were able to pull in a lot of different elements and pieces.” One of our favorite details are the magnificent chandeliers displayed all throughout the space!

The Florals

“So many different types of flowers were used, and purposefully!” Hannah shares. Most of the blooms chosen for this shoot were white flowers to help keep with the classic color scheme the team wanted. Many of the florals were also classic wedding flowers including hydrangeas, roses and baby’s breath. Our favorite floral detail is the asymmetrical ceremony display. Talk about a showstopper!

The Decor

An elegant and romantic wedding is not complete without plenty of glassware adorning the tables! The décor really catches the light of the setting Chicago sun and adds an air of opulence to the shoot. One of our favorite elements is the plates used in the tablescapes. The delicate petal designs perfectly match the color scheme of this shoot. The gold tableware and the napkins fashioned into bows—which are SO popular in the wedding scene right now—are two touches that add so much beauty and grace as well. Another detail that we are obsessed with is the opulent and stunning chairs provided by Sky on Nine. We love the gold design that complements the architectural look that the team was going for.

The Stationery

Kate of Singsolo Designs knocked this stationery suite out of the park! Hannah sent over ideas of what she was looking for, and she absolutely nailed the vision. The combination of fonts are perfect for an elegant celebration and we love all the extra details like the ribbons and rounded corners that make the invitation suite feel even more unique and opulent. Our favorite detail, though, is the stunning artwork on the inside of the envelopes and on the second layer of the menus!

The Looks

One dress was simply not enough for this shoot! CBTKbrand provided two full-length and full-skirt dresses for the more classic side of our shoot and we showed off two of their short designs for a more unique flair in the reception areas! The floral designs and crystal adornments on them all add a touch of modernity and elegance. We love how each of the looks is so different but all work together with the design! Choosing to go more neutral, the beauty team applied the bride’s makeup in pink and earthy tones. They also styled her hair in a braided, half-up half-down look for the ceremony, which was then pulled into a low bun with face-framing curls for the reception look.
