Caitlin and Brandon met on a blind date set up by their friends. They soon became inseparable! Brandon proposed during a couple’s weekend trip to Chicago on a rooftop bar with a view of the city. Talk about romance with a view!
When trying on wedding dresses, Caitlin thought she knew what she wanted. Quickly, she realized her tastes had changed after trying on three different dresses she wasn’t happy with. We’re thrilled that she expanded her mindset and found the dress that was right for her! She says, “The low back and gorgeous, unique lace sold me instantly. I had only tried on three dresses before I found 'the one'.”
This couple knew they wanted to get married at Journeyman Distillery, and had their wedding date booked before they were even engaged. “We loved that it had a very rustic look to it with the wood and black iron throughout the place,” Caitlin says. “It was perfect for my husband’s outdoor taste, but also allowed me to bring in romantic touches to make it a bit more feminine.”
What we love
From gathering at the rehearsal dinner at The Inn at Harbor Shoes to dancing the night away at the ceremony, this couple loved how supported they felt from family and friends for their special day. Caitlin says, “Having all of our close friends and family with us, seeing how emotional everyone was with us throughout the evening, and watching everyone enjoying themselves really was the icing on the cake for our very perfect day.”
Advice from the couple
Caitlin’s advice is for brides to slow down and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime planning process. She notes. “It is so easy to get caught up in trying to put together and finalize all of the details that go into making your big day so special, but it all goes by so fast. You only get to go through this process once, so soak in every second and enjoy every moment.”
