Soft Florals Meet Modern Copper Tones: A Northern Indiana Cover Shoot at Kruse Plaza

The Vision

Playful, pretty and delightfully fresh, our exclusive Northern Indiana cover shoot takes an original spin on whimsical and modern style. “When I think whimsical, I think of billowing floral arrangements and flowing drapery. When I think ‘modern,’ I think of geometric shapes and industrial-inspired décor,” says Fort Wayne wedding planner and owner of Amaising Events, Maisie Hepler. Maisie and her team of fabulous Northern Indiana vendors created a picturesque ceremony that showcases the Pantone Color of the Year, Classic Blue, alongside modern touches of copper. “The juxtaposition of the softer florals against the boldness of Classic Blue turned out just beautiful,” Maisie adds.

The Venue

The flexible indoor and outdoor space of this Auburn, Indiana venue gives this shoot the best of both worlds! Kruse Plaza’s courtyard offered a picturesque space for this lighthearted ceremony. The party moves inside for the reception, where gorgeous towering wood beams and an open concept ballroom await to wow any guest. Maisie adds, “Kruse Plaza’s extensive collection of vintage automobiles is also a key attraction and provides endless photo-ops.”

The Look

This Wendy’s Bridal gown has a sleek and sexy silhouette that is nothing but modern, while the lace and beading adds the perfect touch of whimsy. The model’s gorgeous makeup and classy updo, elegantly styled by the traveling Indiana stylist team Something Blue Stylists, is topped by an absolutely showstopping headpiece mixed with florals and copper wire. “The copper wire accents provided such a fun and unique contrast against the soft, delicate flowers,” says Maisie.

The DÉcor

The copper metal arch adorned with fresh florals by Anne-Grey Flowers absolutely steals the show with its glamorous contemporary touch. With Kruse Plaza’s ballroom acting as the ideal blank slate, the shoot’s reception tablescape was beautifully transformed with a soft Classic Blue table runner. The copper chargers and silverware from Burns Rent-Alls added the perfect finishing touch. The subtle additions of copper wire candle holders and table numbers from Amaising Events helps this shoot expertly balance the modern and vintage vibes.
