Soft Gold Makes this Detroit Celebration Shine: The Real Wedding of Krista and Javin Mesi

Krista and Javin met during a mutual friend’s wedding. A few months later, they reconnected at a party for the same couple, and have been inseparable ever since! Javin really wanted to wow Krista for his proposal, so he popped the question while the couple was swimming with dolphins in Mexico. “It was an incredible proposal we won’t forget!” Krista says.

Krista had trouble finding her perfect gown. “I was not one of those brides that tried on a dress, started crying and knew that this dress was 'the one,'” she explains. “There were so many beautiful dresses, all of which were so different and had their own distinct vibe!” After many trips to different bridal salons, one of Krista’s bridal attendants found her a gown that just felt right!

What we love

Krista and Javin had many small details that made a big difference to them. Specifically selected songs, a custom chalk painting made by the mother-of-the-bride, and handpainted jean jackets for the bridal party added the perfect touch of sentiment to this couple’s ceremony!

Advice from the couple

“Don’t leave many last-minute errands or planning for the week before your wedding,” Krista advises. “You will want to enjoy that time with friends and family and other last-minute things will come up that can add to the stress and commotion.”
