This Sparkling Indianapolis Wedding is Full of Little Details: The Real Wedding of Allison & Troy Shiley

Allison and Troy became fast friends during their time together on their high school swim team. After years of getting to know each other, the pair knew it was meant to be! Troy’s lakeside proposal left Allison overwhelmed with happiness.

An A-line and long train were must-haves for Allison’s dress. “I saw my dress on the mannequin when we first walked in and I said that I wanted to try it on,” she remembers. “I think I tried it on as my fourth or fifth dress and immediately fell in love with it.”

Because both Allison and Troy are visual people, they turned to Pinterest and Instagram to begin planning their big day. “My wedding planner, Sarah Farthing of All in the Details, also thought of so many cool ideas that I never would have thought of,” Allison adds. “She also was very detailed and made sure I did not leave anything out.”

What we love

The pair loved the intimate feeling of having their first dance on the ballroom floor while the guests looked on from the balcony. “What really made the day special was having all of the people we love in one room together to help us celebrate our special day,” Allison adds.

Advice from the couple

Allison advises planning early, so you can do a little bit at a time. She adds, “Make sure you and your wedding coordinator work well together because they really do make the wedding day go as smoothly as possible!”
