Emma and Brian set their sights on an elopement within Chicago through Lace and Brass Events. Emma says, “I already knew I wanted an all-inclusive elopement package. We wanted to elope ASAP since we knew we could only keep the secret for so long. We debated a courthouse wedding, but we wanted something a bit more special. We took less than ten weeks from proposal to wedding.” For Emma and Brian, this was perfect. It was true to the idea that they weren't looking for a lavish wedding with a year worth of planning beforehand—this was simple, honest and profound to the couple.

Emily Jeffress of Lace & Brass Events says, “Emma and Brian were looking to elope in Chicago and came across our Chicago Elopement Package. We had already picked out a photographer, Nicole Jansma Photography, and the florist, Field and Florist, and general design of the elopement. They found it and it was exactly what they were looking for, down to the specific date we had chosen!” Having the vendors pre-selected can make it much easier for the couple. There is no stress in finding the right florist or décor, you are assured by the trusted experience of the vendors. Emma adds, “I was able to rely on Emily and Nicole’s expertise. It saved me so much of my own time! My wedding day was also really fun for me. I just got to relax and have fun with Brian.”

Lincoln Park became the dream ceremony spot for the couple. Emma says, “It was the most convenient location that was part of an elopement package. It also provided a beautiful backdrop.” Even in November, the backdrop for their elopement was gorgeous, welcoming and timeless.

We love that Emma and Brian honored that they did not want to complicate getting married. Emma says, “We did a true elopement. We didn’t tell anyone, so there wasn’t any engagement announcement or social media posts. As soon as you tell someone, they immediately begin offering their opinions. We wanted to avoid all that.” The elopement was an authentic and humble way to celebrate their union, while still being special and beautiful.

When it came to handling the design and look of the elopement, Emily of Lace & Brass took all the stress off the couple and created a rich color scheme. Emily says, “When creating the design, we really were inspired by the fall colors, but in an elegant way. We loved the late fall colors you find outside: copper, beige, rust red as well as neutral colors of the city.” These dark, autumn hues were perfect for the elopement and offered a warm vibe for the couple. Emily adds, “It’s always so important to us that the ceremony is true to the couple. We don’t have a cookie-cutter ceremony script for clients to use. They truly have complete control over what is said and how it is said.”
