Reception Location
Sky-High Garden Party
Anne Muskopf and Andy Hammond met through a mutual friend in the summer of 2008 and immediately formed a friendship that quickly turned into something more.
CAPTURING THE MOMENT
In August 2011, Anne was with Andy’s family at the Indianapolis Museum of Art taking family photographs. “We had just taken some photographs in front of the ‘LOVE’ statue and as I was about to walk away, Andy handed me something wrapped in a towel, which after opening I saw was a scrapbook he had made,” Anne said. “As I flipped through the pages, I realized what was happening and looked around and saw his entire family standing around watching!” As Anne turned to the last page she saw a diamond ring tied to a blue ribbon and read the words, “Will you Marry Me?”
“Andy got down on one knee, untied the ring and placed it on my finger! The best part, besides marrying the man of my dreams, is that the photographer captured the proposal on camera!”
SUMMER IN THE CITY
On the June wedding day, Andy and Anne made it official as their friends and family gathered at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Indianapolis for their wedding ceremony. Following the evening ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests made their way to one of the city’s most cosmopolitan venues, the D’Amore, Events of Indianapolis, which features floor to ceiling windows with a 360 degree view of downtown Indianapolis. “Andy and I both have pretty traditional tastes, so the reception venue was a big surprise for a lot of our guests,” Anne said.
ECLECTIC CELEBRATION
With the help of wedding planner Laura Lim of Eventfull Planning, Anne and Andy blended the urban contemporary feel of the reception venue with an intimate garden party décor. Décor for the eclectic celebration included tables covered in black and white striped tablecloths with classic white and pink flowers showcased in antique canning jars from Anne’s grandmother.
I CROSS MY HEART
For the first official dance as husband and wife, Anne and Andy took to the dance floor to “I Cross My Heart” by George Strait. “We had tried ballroom dance lessons and failed miserably due to my inability to ‘follow’,” Anne said. “We went with a country song since I’m from Texas and we both can agree on how to two-step!”
SPECIAL REMEMBRANCE
Andy honored his mother, who passed away when he was eight years old, by incorporating fabric from her wedding dress in his vest, bow tie and pocket square. He also used his mother’s engagement ring and diamond in his wedding band.
