If there’s anyone who can get away with an elegant “chemistry” themed wedding, it’s chemists, of course! Jessica and John were both working for Caraco Pharmaceuticals in Detroit when they first met in 2011.

After getting engaged in their own backyard, with their dog, Seamus, by their sides, they planned a trip “up north” to see various Michigan venues. The landed on Willow Harbor Vineyards, and it didn’t hurt they allowed their beloved pup to attend the wedding!

What We Love

When asked what inspired her, Jessica responded, “Pinterest, WeddingDay Magazine and my florist (Marco Alexzondra Floral & Event Services). He was a great resource to discuss how to elegantly implement the chemistry theme. Jessica adds, “During our first phone discussion, I could tell how much he LOVED his job and loved that he was excited about executing the chemistry theme with me. After talking to him once, I knew I would hire him.”

Besides their own “Jess and John” chemistry logo, this couple found many ways to incorporate a theme that was very important to them….beakers were incorporated into their decor, John’s boutonniere was in a tiny volumetric flask, they did a chemical reaction as their unity ceremony and each of their tables was given a chemical that was somehow associated with love.

Advice From the Bride

Jessica says. “Don’t sweat the small stuff, especially on your wedding day. Little details are fun to plan, but if a single one isn’t executed perfectly, no one will notice but you! Don’t worry about it.”
