Like a scene from a Nicholas Sparks love story, Mallorie and Will met Freshman year of high school at a football game. “He stole my blanket because it was cold,” she says. The two were actually engaged exactly where they had gone after their senior prom, the Chesterton Dunes.

Desiring a classy, clean look, Mallorie turned to Pinterest for inspiration behind her light blue and white wedding filled with lots of light and greenery. The venue the couple chose featured string lights, exposed brick and wood - a perfect pairing for their lovely look.

What We Love

Mallorie says, “I loved having a first look with my husband. I was so anxious and nervous the whole day and as soon as we saw each other, we felt so at peace and so excited to get married. I don’t think we could have lasted until the ceremony to see each other! I also loved our centerpiece. We asked Leah (florist) to construct a centerpiece for the altar and head table that turned out so incredibly beautiful. I also loved that we had so many family members and close friends that were apart of our wedding that read verses, performed at our ceremony and sang during the ceremony as well.”

Advice From the Bride

Mallorie says, “Try on all the dresses that you can! You never know what will look amazing on you! The first look was amazing and was so special. We also were able to spend more time with our guests because we finished all the pictures before the wedding. Get a good DJ! It makes the reception so much fun and helps with organization. It can make or break the reception. Lastly, get a trial of hair and makeup done. It helps get you and your stylist on the same page, and you will know if you want to change something. It also helps to talk about your veil with the stylist as well so you know how to complement and put on your veil in the best way.”
