TImING IS EVERYTHING
When Danielle Klotz and Andrew Fiega met through mutual friends in December of 2007, they both realized that the timing wasn’t right. Neither of them were looking for a serious relationship, so they went their separate ways. Little did they know they were fated from the start. A few years passed before the two met again in June of 2011, but this time things were different. The timing was now perfect and they have been together ever since.
A CASUAL PROPOSAL
Danielle knew about one week after they began dating that Andrew was “the one”, but wasn’t so quick to share that news. “I was smart enough not to tell him that until a few months later,” she said. But her initial instincts were right, and Andrew knew it too.
On May 17, 2012, the two were in downtown Indianapolis for a social event and went out to dinner afterwards. “Everything was so casual and normal I had no idea what was about to happen,” Danielle said. “He got me to the Soldiers and Sailors Monument downtown and dropped down on one knee, completely surprising me.”
NEW VINTAGE
With the help of April Foster Events, a color palette of pink and green – Danielle’s favorite colors – helped bring the “new vintage” theme of the Fiega wedding to life. Stacy Molander of Design Group created florals of spray roses, green hydrangeas, green trachilium and seeded eucalyptus set low in mercury glass vases that reflected the design plan. “Of course I had to have poppies,” Danielle said. “But they were out of season, so my good friend, Jama Finney, from Cake Zen, created gorgeous pink sugar poppies for my wedding bouquet and cake.”
“IT ALL FELT LIKE A DREAM”
Because their wedding was on a Friday evening, Danielle and Andrew decided to have a first look before the ceremony so they could get right to the reception afterwards. They met at the Indianapolis Artsgarden and Danielle could not wait. “I was really excited to see him,” she said. “It all felt like a dream. I’m not much of a ‘public display of affection’ person, but I had no problems that day.”
“FINALLY MARRIED”
After the two said “I do”, they headed to their reception at the Conrad Indianapolis to celebrate with family and friends, and create more memories of their perfect day. It was here that Danielle experienced her favorite moment of the night: simply sitting next to her new husband at their sweetheart table eating dinner. “It just felt so good to know we were finally married and we were able to be by ourselves for a little bit, yet surrounded by our family and friends.” For Andrew it came a bit earlier in the evening and was right before the ceremony began, when the curtains were drawn at the Conrad to show his bride on the other side.
The next chapter of their life together had just begun, but that did not mean they were done working on their relationship, and the two both understood that. “We continue to work as a couple and understand that we will always have to try to communicate, be honest with our feelings, expectations, to be kind to each other, to not only say ‘I love you’ every day but to actually act like we love each other in how we interact.”
