Let your inner creativity shine in this submission to our 2020 Style Shoot Design Contest! Alesha Laws of Follow Your Arrow Photography wanted to incorporate several forms of art into a wedding in blue. “We chose 'Artistic Touch' as our theme because it presented a broad yet challenging opportunity to explore the current trend of micro weddings and shoot in a gallery to demonstrate that any location can be transformed into a wedding location,” Alesha says. Elegant and out-of-the-box, this shoot will have you itching to explore an art museum!
It’s no surprise that an art gallery acted as the perfect venue for this shoot. Classic Blue, the Pantone Color of the Year, was already seen throughout several of the gallery’s unique paintings. The team continued this collaboration of colors throughout the rest of the shoot in the floral arrangements, groom’s attire and cake.
The team wanted the florals to complement the artwork surrounding the shoot. We love the details of Classic Blue cabbage roses and preserved grasses!
Staying true to the rest of the shoot’s theme, this textured gown is truly one-of-a-kind. “We were looking for a dress that wouldn’t be seen in every bridal store across the country,” Alesha explains. The model’s stunning makeup, styled by True Beauty by Dana, makes this bride’s look pop. The crown paired with some casual, face-framing curls is the perfect modern twist on a classical updo!
This cake’s design easily fits into this gallery! The confection was designed to tell the story of a couple’s journey to love. Alesha adds, “The hand-painted, gold-gilded edible sails nod to the richness of Grecian culture while highlighting the transparent journey it takes to maintain your love.”
