The Vision

The vision for our fall/winter 2025 Southwest Michigan cover shoot was rooted in “Western Glam,” a concept crafted by planner Gina Bombin-Wilk of SRE Weddings & Events. Inspired by the bold, high-fashion energy of Canadian skijoring events, Gina envisioned a world where winter luxury meets rugged western spirit. Gina explains, "The spectators come dressed in their winter best. Decked out in fancy cowboy hats and boots, fur coats, leather, texture and earthy tones and colors." Paired with a palette of fresh whites, striking blues, warm browns and shimmering accents, the result is a look that feels both natural and elevated, blending the raw beauty of a western ranch with the sparkle and sophistication of winter glam!

The Venue

The Section House Event Space proved to be the perfect setting for our Western Glam vision, offering both character and versatility in every corner. While the venue boasts a stunning outdoor greenspace for ceremonies, cold rain brought the celebration indoors—an easy shift thanks to the abundance of beautifully textured, stylish spaces inside! With its cozy industrial vibe, original warm wood floors, black-and-white walls and copper accents, the venue naturally echoed the refined western aesthetic of the shoot. Though choosing from its many colors, textures and design options was a challenge in the best way, The Section House provided the ideal backdrop for blending rugged charm with elevated winter luxury!

The Décor

The décor pulled directly from the natural, organic palette of a western ranch while elevating it with layers of rich texture and subtle glamour. Soft, two-toned linens and peacock-blue napkins formed the perfect foundation, accented by scalloped gold chargers, modern black stoneware and gold-rimmed bone china for a balanced mix of rustic warmth and refined style. Black flatware added contrast, while Melodia drinkware—with its etched glass and gold details—brought a touch of winter sparkle. Centerpieces combined antique brass candleholders, black tapers inside ribbed hurricanes and ribbed votives to create height, drama and a romantic glow. One standout trend-forward detail was a pair of white vintage metal church candelabras with black candles—statement pieces around which the entire ceremony design was built!

The Florals

The florals for the shoot took shape through a beautifully unexpected twist. Originally planned with pink roses in mind, the design shifted the moment Gina discovered striking Balloon plants—unique blooms from the milkweed family that resembled miniature cacti. These became the star of the bouquet, inspiring an organic, desert aesthetic. "Paired with natural grasses and Ying Yang button mums, the flowers looked like something you’d find popping up randomly in the dessert sun," Gina shares. We especially love that the bouquet was designed in a hoop style, with a lasso rope forming the circular handle for a playful nod to the Western theme! To further enhance the Western Glam mood, potted succulents in white textured pots added dimension, texture and a natural, ranch-inspired vibe to the overall design.

The Looks

The models' looks for our Western Glam shoot perfectly captured the blend of rustic charm and elevated glamour that defined the concept. "Working with Madison from Madison Lane Bridal is always fun," Gina raves. "The girl always brings options!" The first gown featured a long-sleeve fitted lace bodice with a full tulle skirt, perfectly flowy for a western-inspired wedding. The second dress was pure showstopper, complete with bell sleeves, an open back, allover lace detailing and subtle shimmer. The looks were paired with a white cowgirl hat and sparkly white boots to fully embody the Western Glam aesthetic! The groom complemented the palette in a tan suit and teal tie. Blushing Beauty & Co styled the bride’s hair in a curled half-up style for the first dress and a chic updo adorned with feathers and flowers for the second, while Jenn Martz Makeup Artistry enhanced her striking features with romantic eye makeup and a soft pink lip—tying together a look that was both playful and elegant.

The Cake

The cake was a stunning blend of rustic charm and elevated elegance. Designed in warm bronze and soft peach tones, the tiered confection featured handcrafted fondant succulents and florals in muted sage and peach. The real show-stealing detail? Delicate turquoise beads that dangled along the bottom tier, adding that quintessential Western flair with a touch of glam. It was the sweetest centerpiece—and a work of art all on its own!
