What Your Wedding Photographers Want You to Know

"Many couples seem to feel that a USB stick is all that they’ll need once the wedding is over. The one thing that I would like for couples to come to realize is that their images should not forever sit on a USB drive but act mainly as an archival backup. The images that your photographer will capture are rarer than any precious metal or gem on this planet.

Albums, prints and wall art are an essential part of the post-wedding day experience. Every time you have guests come over, they will notice the 12x12 album on your coffee table and start flipping through it. They might even be in the album which will prompt great conversation, wonderful memories and a stronger friendship. That same album will become an heirloom for your great grandchildren to enjoy and laugh at their mother, the flower girl for having their adorable meltdown. When you get home from work and see all the canvas gallery wraps hanging on your walls, you’re reminded of why and who you work so hard for. All those gift prints and thank you cards you sent to your friends and families are constant reminders for them that they are someone significant in your life. You rarely ever get experiences like these with pixels or a USB drive, you just don’t.

Your photographer most likely is able to offer you high quality prints, albums and wall art that will help you appreciate all the time and effort you put into your wedding while always reminding you of who was by your side during all of it. If you just tuck those memories away onto a USB drive, it’s harder to appreciate those moments that you both worked so hard for. Go beyond the digital pixels, because a flash drive does not look good hanging on a wall." -Westley Jerdon of Westley Leon Studios
