Wildflowers and Whiskey: An Industrial Yet Natural Style Shoot in Southwest Michigan

Despite being in a building with plenty of industrial flourishes, this creative team wanted to create a style shoot that emulated being in a meadow surrounded by wildflowers. "Wildflowers grow together in natural meadows and fields, creating a beautiful tapestry of scent and color. Our intention was to intertwine the elements of the shoot within a virtual field of wildflowers to create a something dreamlike, beautiful and harmonious with nature," Cynthia Basker, the planner for this shoot, shares.

The most important detail of this shoot was the flowers! In order to make the scene look like a flowering field, the team needed to find the right florist. Marco Alexzondra Floral did an incredible job with this display! All of the arrangements around the shoot are perfectly curated with multiple blooms of various textures. The flowers used include daisies, snapdragons, mums, Queen Anne's lace, roses, lilies, aster, eucalyptus and so many more, making it feel like we've stepped into a flourishing spring field!

Choosing the color scheme for this style shoot was simple for the creative team as it was inspired purely by the colors of the wildflowers. This meant incorporating lots of purple and green offset by white, black and wooden elements, supplied by two different rental companies. The team also used plenty of rattan designs to add more texture to the shoot! AAYS Event Rentals provided several items that were perfect for this design! We love their chartreuse velvet napkins that contrasted beautifully with the amethyst goblets and cotton dinner plates. Our favorite space is the lounge area, specifically the olive green velvet sofa!

No style shoot is complete without a beautiful bride and a stunning dress, and this shoot definitely has both! Cynthia explains, "We wanted the gown to have a light, ethereal fairytale feel." They did an excellent job of pulling that look off! The dress is a unique A-line gown with pearls attached to all parts of the dress. We love that they added gloves to elevate this look to a princess tier. As for the bride, the beauty team gave her a gorgeous up-do with pearls placed in the bun and light makeup to keep her natural beauty present.

Take a look at that delicious cake from Froehlich's Bakery! "The cake was a simple two-tier confection with vines and floral climbing up from the bed of wildflowers that it sat in," Cynthia explains. With so many florals present in the scene, a simple white cake serves as a great contrast. And we love the texture that is added to the icing for a tiny bit of flair!
