Baylee and Tommy both happened to swipe right on Tinder and started their forever story. Ten months after their first date, Tommy proposed at Baylee's mom's house. "Every Friday, my whole family (mom, brother, aunt, uncle and all my cousins) gets together and goes out to eat," Baylee explains. "So, everyone was over at my mom’s house that Friday evening when he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife."
"Initially I wanted something more unique, almost antique looking. I knew I didn’t want a traditional engagement ring," Baylee says. Despite showing Tommy many inspiration photos, he still seemed a little lost. Baylee decided to go ring shopping with him but couldn't find exactly what she was looking for, so she asked the jeweler if she could customize one of the rings they had in stock. The jeweler was more than willing to help her make her dream engagement ring, and we think it turned out beautifully!
Baylee wasn't sure where to start in looking for engagement and wedding photographers. After seeing some photos and realizing she would be looking at them for the rest of her life, Baylee knew she wanted a high-quality photographer. "I went to a bridal expo in Nappanee, Indiana and that is where I met Brandi Graves. I loved the pictures she had displayed. It was the style of photography that I was wanting, but what really sold me was Brandi’s personality," Bayle raves.
Though they originally wanted a rustic fall wedding, Baylee and Tommy changed to a winter wedding after having some issues booking for fall of 2022. Baylee gushes, "Initially we were thinking February. I was looking on Pinterest at winter weddings and saw a lot of inspiration for 'Christmas' weddings. Christmas has always been my favorite holiday and time of year." They got everything big booked in about three months after they got engaged. Baylee is surprised—but grateful—that she hasn't stressed much yet.
