WeddingDay's 2019 Style Shoot Design Contest

Calling all planners, event designers, photographers, rental companies and wedding connoisseurs alike! WeddingDay is launching our first annual 2019 Style Shoot Design Contest! This contest is all about pushing the boundaries of wedding design while celebrating the talent within our community. We invite you to create fresh, new style shoots (with some guidelines) that will go beyond anything we’ve seen before. We are looking to depart from the themes that we have seen in the past few years: bohemian, industrial, vintage, rustic, etc. While these themes are beautiful, we want to invite innovative style into the game. Of course, there is some major incentive for you! The winning style shoot (as voted on by the WeddingDay staff) will be published in our upcoming print magazine, Issue 3 2019. Bonus: All style shoots submitted will be guaranteed a feature on our website!

The Guidelines

• Your style shoot must use the Pantone Color of the Year: Living Coral. This does not have to be the focal point of your shoot—but it should be incorporated somewhere. 
• Your style shoot must be based on one of the themes listed below. Use total creative range and freedom beyond those details!

1. European - Whether it is Venetian, French, German, Scandinavian or Spanish - this design should introduce aspects of a European culture and embrace a design that is rarely seen within the Midwest.
2. Alternative - We're talking grunge, punk and rock glam! Let your rocker side take over and design a shoot for the spunky bride.
3. Elements - This design will be inspired by one of the four elements: air, water, earth or fire. This style shoot could be focused on one element alone or a combination of the four.
4. Southwestern - This design may be more straightforward, but there is so much to offer and it is exciting to bring this regional theme into the Midwest. From wild west inspiration to warm color schemes - there is a lot to play with!
5. Ultra Modern - Take us into the future with this theme. Not just modern (white walls and bold font), but a design that has never been seen before. A futuristic theme may incorporate new patterns, sharp lines or super simplistic elements–you be the judge!

• The majority of the style shoot team should be Midwest wedding vendors (the location of the style shoot can be anywhere!).
• You must upload a questionnaire and vendor form with your submission
• The completed style shoot must be submitted via the form below by 11:59 p.m. on August 16, 2019
• The winning shoot will be revealed in Issue 3 2019!
