Austin and Jessie are both from the same small town. While they knew of one another they had never actually met. Jessie says, “On a hot summer day, we happened to see each other in passing and he smilingly said, ‘Hey! What’s up?’”. That little hello led to a first date and the rest is history!"
“The day he proposed, we hiked out very early to our favorite spot in the Daniel Boone National Park, accompanied by two good friends that were there to take a couple of photos of us for my birthday,” says Jessie. “I was already ecstatic to capture these precious moments with Austin. But, I had no idea what he had planned! Not only was it the most beautiful, illuminated, hazy sunrise I had ever seen, but Austin asked for my hand in marriage during our photo shoot. I could not deny him. There is no doubt in my mind that he is my soulmate.”
Austin picked out the ring for Jessie himself. Jessie was in love with the ring from the moment she saw it and says, “I would have chosen something so very similar to it for myself.” Picking out their photographer was a breeze too. Mary of We Choose The Moon Photography is one of Jessie’s sister’s friends. “We didn’t only choose her for being comfortable with her but also we loved her style,” adds Jessie. “We both loved the moody, realistic, film-like look that she has going on.”
Austin and Jessie were sure of one thing even before they got engaged — they were going to have an outdoor wedding. Jessie says, “Nothing too flashy. It will be something small and meaningful with our close friends and family. It doesn’t have to be traditional. We just want everyone to feel that our wedding expresses who we are.”
