Both a part of their best friends' bridal party, Carin and Spencer met and clicked right away. After dating for awhile, under the guise of taking Carin out to look at a specific spot in Enger Park in Duluth, Minnesota, Spencer actually took the moment to propose. When Carin reached the spot, all their friends were waiting!
Even though Carin chose the ring herself, Spencer's grandmother added a personal touch. "His grandma gave her round diamond stone for the center. She beat cancer and went all out with a real diamond," Carin shares. "My favorite part is the sentimental value."
When planning for their engagement session, Carin and Spencer knew they wanted to do something classy and timeless. They ended up choosing the Minnesota Capitol Building and Union Depot in St. Paul for their location. As far as attire goes, Carin had the same vision. She knew she wanted to wear a black dress with a white coat, and she had Spencer mirror her in black jacket and slacks with a white shirt.
Once they were engaged, Carin and Spencer knew what they wanted regarding their wedding. They are planning an intimate destination wedding in Hawaii! Playing off the warm and sunny nature of their location, they already picked pink and orange as their wedding colors. So far, their planning is going well. Carin raves, "Having a small wedding is the way to go! Planning a destination wedding is easier and cheaper than I thought."
