This Michigan Greenhouse Wedding has All the D.I.Y. Details: Real Wedding of Nadija Kadunic-Horning & Josh Horning

Nadija and Josh were introduced to each other through Nadija’s best friend. Her wing-woman was right about the match, because the pair hit it off and dated for nearly seven years before they took their relationship to the next level. Josh drove up to Minnesota to surprise Nadija with a proposal in the park and an engagement road trip across Minnesota, Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula, and Traverse City! 

Nadija found her dream dress at Becker’s Bridal, and we can see why she fell in love with the style! She says, “My dress was the sixth dress I tried on and I immediately knew it was 'the one.' I had that feeling. I just felt so beautiful in my favorite dress, it felt very me, and I didn’t feel the need to keep looking.”

What we love

The couple went the D.I.Y. route, designing their own invitations and seating chart, and thrifting their glassware and table runners. “Creating our own décor was not only a money saver for Josh and myself, but it was also a great way to bond with each other and truly feel like this was our wedding,” Nadija says.

Advice from the couple

Nadija urges couples to embark on the planning process together. “Design or create something together, go thrifting for cool décor pieces, create a joint Pinterest board,” she suggests. “Doing this truly brought us closer as a couple and made seeing everything come together on the day of even more special.”
