After taking a trip across the beautiful and diverse United States, Molly Martin of Molly and Clover wanted to create a style shoot to represent all the landscapes she just saw. "I wanted to include rich, vibrant colors from the mountains and deserts, a variety of textures and, of course, all the hippy vibes," Molly explains.

The venue came to Molly through a friend who wanted to renovate her lake house to use as an Airbnb. Though Molly didn't get to see the venue before it was time for the shoot, everything seemed to fall together perfectly, including giving her other vendors creative control in their aspects of the shoot. "I was absolutely thrilled with how it turned out," Molly raves. "I was just hoping for good weather, and we got super lucky with a sunny summer day!"

Since this shoot was inspired by Molly's cross-country trip, nature was a HUGE priority for her. The venue did not fail! As Molly gushes, "This home is located on a private tree-covered peninsula, so the view of the lake is incredible!" With the florals, Molly wanted to make sure a variety of colors and textures were used in the bouquet and surrounding floral arrangements. So, Molly used various textures of flowers (such as roses and Queen Anne's lace) to combine with a mixture of dried flowers as well.

"I took a very long time choosing the dress," Molly admits. She wanted something that matched the model's laid-back attitude, so a traditional dress wouldn't do. The dress she ending up using was a handmade one from a shop based in Thailand. There is plenty of ruffles and lace detailing to match the boho vibe Molly wanted. The macrame veil became a focal point of the shoot and looked stunning with the dress!

Molly wanted a color palette that not only reflected the beauty of the west coast but also could be tweaked to work in any season. And, all of the decor was bought from an Instagram thrift shop to show modern trends can be made personal. The decor is what inspired Mirth Garden Bakery's cake. "She pulled all the colors from the tapestry, tent, rugs and floral for the most perfect little cake," Molly says. "Not only was it adorable, it was top-eight allergen-free, and the flavor was to die for!"
