Starting with a mood board full of shapes and warm colors, Gabriella—the photographer, planner and coordinator of this shoot—dreamed up a bohemian scene with geometric elements to set it apart. "I named this style 'boho geometric' because I wanted to tie in shapes, burnt orange and warm colors. It was so much better than my inspiration photos I shared!" Gabriella raves. The only major issue was the weather, which seemed to comply when they needed time for outside photos!
The venue is absolutely stunning! We are obsessed with the greenhouse feel thanks to the numerous windows surrounding the venue. "The venue offered a great blank slate with plenty of natural lighting, modern black and neutral color spaces," Gabriella explains. "I really wanted to use the glass conservatory for the ceremony space as well." The large windows effortlessly add an air of elegance to any celebration.
To incorporate a modern trend, the team decided to use a jumpsuit for the bride instead of a traditional dress. "I felt like rompers were becoming in style, something different, unique and more comfortable for those casual brides. I thought it tied in nicely with the boho feel that had a very casual but elegant look to it," Gabriella says. We love that the team also chose to work with the bride's naturally curly hair. The star clips are a stunning addition to this look!
Color schemes can make or break a shoot, and this one is perfect! Not only does it make the boho theme so rich and inviting, it also works beautifully to usher in the fall wedding season. With vibrant burnt orange and deep red at the center of it all, this color pallette could be any bride's autumnal dream. Gabriella admits, "Fall is my favorite season. Warm burnt oranges also are some of my favorite colors in weddings to photograph."
We have to talk about that tablescape! It looks like a wonderful place to have a fall feast! "I knew I really wanted black plates for the dramatic boho feel," Gabriella gushes. Everything came together with those plates. We love the balance that the team created between orange and green with neutral black and white. The bronze silverware also fits really well with the overall color scheme. The candles, flowers and colored glasses are the perfect accent pieces.
As for the desserts, the team had two fall-time ideas. Gabriella wanted a cake that was a unique fall color to go with the boho theme. The rich brown icing was a perfect choice as well as the addition of circular details like the thistles and other flowers. We also adore that the team included mugs as favors to create the best fall combo–donuts and cider!
