Inspired by our "Taylor Swift Albums" theme for this year's Style Shoot Design Contest, sponsored by AAYS Event Rentals, this team set a goal to create a style shoot that showcased each of Taylor Swift's albums with a focus on Lover. Amanda Van Der Moere, the planner for this shoot, shares, "The inspiration came from Taylor’s Lover album, with themes of romance, storytelling and timeless aesthetics, creating a celebration filled with thoughtful nods to her music and persona across her full musical portfolio." Though there are spots where you can see all of her album colors, the main colors for the shoot were inspired by Taylor's Lover album, with touch of Peach Fuzz, the 2024 Pantone Color of the Year.
The team couldn't have found a more perfect venue to host this shoot. With the combination of industrial elegance and rustic charm, The Heirloom replicates the feel of many of Taylor Swift's albums. "The original brick walls, polished wood floors and exposed wood beams offer a warm and intimate setting, perfect for evoking the dreamy, vintage-inspired vibe seen in Taylor’s Folklore and Evermore eras," Amanda explains. "This balance of modern and nostalgic elements create an inviting, magical atmosphere for a wedding inspired by her artistry." We couldn't agree more!
To accurately represent each of the eras of Taylor's music, the team created floral arrangements for each album. "We wanted to include colors of the rainbow in the florals so we used peach roses, yellow Fuji mums, blue stock, purple carnations, pink hydrangeas, pink roses and white babies breath because it’s delicate," Amanda says. We love that each centerpiece not only has its unique color coding but also a special choice of flower types and textures. There are also plenty of colors and pastel elements in much of the décor used in the shoot. One of our favorite details are the large butterfly wings throughout the event, which make an appearance on Taylor Swift's self-titled album. Other nods to Taylor's albums in the décor are the giant sequin guitar and the disposable cameras—which are related to 1989.
Though the team decided to not use a couple for this shoot, they still incorporated stationery and desserts. As for menus and wedding programs, the chosen design was a colorful pastel background with pops of teal, which also relate to Taylor's self-titled album as well as Lover. For desserts, the team elected to forgo the cake and had a more Taylor-approved dessert. Amanda shares, "We made white chocolate covered red velvet cake pops inspired from her music video 'I Bet You Think About Me'." Other themed food items included hearts and other Swiftie imagery. The team also included fun, Taylor-inspired drinks for their guests!
