2022 Style Shoot Design Contest Submission: A Very Peri Fairytale Romance in Bloomington, Indiana

When the creative team set out to put this shoot together, they were intrigued by the theme "Inspired by Stories" from our 2022 Style Shoot Design Contest, sponsored by AAYS Event Rentals. As Kelly Slaven, the photographer of this shoot, explains, "Our vision was to create a modern-day fairytale that would inspire couples of all kinds to instill their day with whimsical romance, moody tones and authentic photographs that will be timeless and cherished for years to come!"
 

This talented vendor team felt like this was the best representation of weddings today. When choosing their venue, they decided on one that had a serene feel. They got lucky and even had the option to include horses in their shoot! "We wanted to play up on our wonderful venue by emphasizing the calm surroundings that feature horses and equestrian-related details throughout the property," Kelly shares.
 

Like all the participants in our annual contest, the team needed to incorporate the Pantone Color of the Year, Very Peri, into their design. This trendy hue makes an appearance in the stationery, flowers and that scrumptious cake! The baker included darker buttercream flowers over the light pink frosting that makes up the three-tiered cake. She also added a few real flowers from the florist to tie the cake back to the bouquets and floral arrangements.
 

Two vintage-looking gowns were selected for this fairytale shoot. The Frock Bridal House brought an array of dresses and jumpsuits for the models to choose from so they could be as comfortable as possible while shooting. The first dress is very classic and vintage with a sleek satin look. However, we love the modernization of it with its lace neckline and sleeves! The second gown is vintage-patterned lace on a sheath dress that looks like it came right out of a 1920s magazine! We love the addition of the fedora to this look, too. For both looks, the eye makeup is the statement piece with unique designs on a shimmering lid.
 

The venue has plenty of beauty to it already, so the team didn't want to distract from the natural beauty with too much décor. As a styled elopement, the team included a wooden arbor adorned with flowers as the backdrop to the ceremony. At the reception scene, they had a sweetheart table for our happy couple that was decorated with flowers and pink chiffon.
